Salon Skills NCEA Vocational Pathways Level 2
The NCEA Vocational Pathways programme is designed for students to gain NCEA Level 2 while learning skills towards their chosen profession; hairdressing, barbering or makeup, and skincare. It is a FREE programme for eligible students. There are no set intake dates, meaning you can start at any time.
Star & Gateway
BHB Academy works with many secondary schools in the wider Manawatu offering Star and Gateway programmes to their students. This is an excellent introduction to the barbering, hairdressing, and beauty industries and an introduction to tertiary study.
New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (salon support) Level 3
The New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Salon Support will give you foundation skills and knowledge of the hairdressing industry. BHB Academy operates from a purpose-built, fully equipped salon that runs commercially for authentic assessment purposes. Students are taught by award-winning, qualified tutors with both hairdressing and teaching as their passion.
New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Emerging Stylist Level 4
Enrolling in the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Emerging stylist at BHB Academy will teach you advanced hairdressing skills in preparation for employment in a hairdressing salon. BHB Academy operates from a purpose-built, fully equipped salon that runs commercially for authentic assessment purposes. New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering Level 4
The New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering is a 40-week programme that covers foundation to advanced skills in barbering. Alongside your learning at BHB Academy you will be required to work in a barbershop where your skills will be enhanced out in the industry.
